Tomb Rater Devlog #3


This round of bug-finding was pretty crazy.

Discovered Bugs:

  • Dashing sometimes sent the player through walls and… well, became unplayable (fixed)
  • Jumping immediately after dashing sends player upwards vertically and getting stuck (fixed… but what even man)
  • Camera while perfect dashing gets stuck on zoomed in (fixed)
  • Interacting with interactables while moving causes animation to get stuck (fixed)
  • Animations occasionally get stuck while on the floor after landing from jump (fixed but needs more testing)
  • Dashing at exact moment where First Sight is triggered causes animation problems (investigating)
  • Spike retract soundFX doesn’t play while off-screen, but triggers when player is within distance (investigating)

Updates:

  • Added long overdue capsule image for game
  • Fall speed reduced
  • Run speed reduced slightly

Dev Thoughts:

  • Adding just one mechanic like dashing caused such a headache… But looking forward to adding combat soon
  • Progress is slow due to life commitments and complex bug discoveries
